Chris Fothergill

Software Engineer

At Design365 I have been responsible for all the iOS and Android Development as well as the larger software developments.

The first project I worked on was an Android App for Stone Technical Services. It aided their employees to carry out lightning protection inspections all across the nation. For my next project, I re-wrote an iOS App I had worked on at University to display upcoming train times for the Tyne & Wear Metro. It also included a route planner to guide passengers from one station to another as efficiently as possible.

Recently I have been working on a Job System for Complete Weed Control. It includes Customer and Asset Management, Task Management and the whole process of a Job from Enquiry to Invoice. The project consists of a PHP Backend and a JS Frontend. The system also includes several iOS Apps which all include Offline Sync with basic conflict resolution. Furthermore, I have also recently worked on two React Applications. The first is an inventory management application which is using GraphQL and Relay. The second is an educational tool for schools to help children learn maths through using Maps. As the only application developer at Design365, I was solely responsible for the development of these applications.

Bishop Auckland College

College, where I helped maintain the college computer systems. This included setting up new computers on the network and diagnosing and fixing problems.

I was on work placement at DOT COM SYSTEMS, a computer shop in Crook, Co. Durham. My duties included serving customers, building new computers from parts and servicing broken ones.
